22ND CLASS - GROUPS 01 & 02 - RESUME/CV

1) We reviewed one of many formats of a resume.
2) You wrote your own resume.
*Group 01 - Students from last year gave an excellent presentation about POP and interview skills.
3) You shared one skill/ability with the class.
4) Your partner told you what 3 skills he/she thinks you have.

21ST CLASS - GROUP 01 - CONTINUE CAREER EXPLORATION
Today:
You chose one of three paths:
1) Continue researching the career you already researched or job shadowed. Try using other websites. Then, come up with any questions that you cannot answer (aim for 10), then write them down. This is preparing you for your mentor.
2) Research another career in the same career family making sure you are documenting your findings.
3) Research a completely different career in a new career family making sure you wrote down why you left your career and career family from before. Document your findings.

19TH CLASS - GROUP 01 - CATCH UP, QUICKWRITE & MENTORS
Today:
1) You were given time to keep working on any POP work you wanted to.

Thinking about your career explorations online and job shadowing, what has that shown you about each career and yourself? For each career, you set out a purpose. You set goals. You expected to learn something about each career, and about yourself. What are you learning? Be honest.
Some of you may be answering yes - I want to explore this career more becuase..., I want to explore careers in this family more because..., I am finding I am suitable for these careers because...
Some of you may be answering no way - I do not like these careers because... what I expected was not how it really was because..., I thought I would be right for the career but I am having doubts because...

Wherever you are, it's normal and you're on the right track. What matters is how you justify your choices. You do not have to pick your life career.
4) Keeping those things in mind, you will be set up with a live mentor in December. Your mentor will be your "go-to" person for the year who works in the career family you are interested in. You will communicate through e-mail with your mentor using a program called Academos. More information TBA.
