49th CLASS - GROUP 02 - GUEST SPEAKER AND WORKSHOP 2: BUDGETING
Today:
Mr. Dore returned to lead us through the second Jeunes Entreprises workshop: Budgeting.
If you missed class, make sure you grab your book and complete p. 7-9.
Congrats to those of you who won prizes!
Key things to remember from our discussion, especially if you missed out today:
-We do not always know the price of things, even if we buy those things often.
-Budgeting is important to make sure we have enough money to survive on our own.
-It is easy to think we have enough money for everything, when we really may not have enough.
-We have less money for the things we may want working jobs that require less education.
That is one of the main reasons why being successful in high school is so important if you plan on being able to pay for the things you wanted in your first budget you worked out.

1) All three sheets of different tasks were collected.
2) You chose 1 career you're not familiar with and that you're NOT interested in.
3) You individually answered:
What 3 personality traits do you have that, in your opinion, don't make you suitable for the career?
What 3 things about the career that you already know about do you not like?
4) With a partner you shared your answers and gave each other feedback based on what you know about each other.
5) You began researching that chosen career and documenting the information IN YOUR OWN WORDS - THE MOST IMPORTANT STUFF ABOUT JOB DESCRIPTION, EDUCATION, EARNINGS, SAMPLE CAREER PATH, ADVICE FROM PEOPLE ON THE VIDEOS, ETC.

46th CLASS - GROUP 02 - JOB SHADOW FOLLOW-UP, REFLECTION ASSIGNMENT

2) You wrote a reflection.
All 10 questions and answers and the above 2 things are due at the beginning of next class tomorrow Tuesday, March 16 (Day 6).

1) 10 questions and assignments from last class were handed in.

3) We began a new LES designed to throw you outside of your comfort level. It is about careers you would not think you would be good at, you would not be interested in, and could not see yourself doing... odd to ask that of you, yes... but there is a purpose to it.
4) So, you should have the basic essentials done of 1 of the 3 careers you chose - similar to before - using http://www.careercruising.com/ - in your own words, the most important information about job description, earnings, education, sample career paths, related careers, advice from the videorecorded people.
That information should be completed for next class - if you missed class, see your go-to person or me... this can be caught up in the computer lab - it will be collected at the beginning of class on Thursday, March 18 (Day 8).

2) You were given time to complete your handout assignment based on your 10 questions and answers.
